[Academia Rules The Roost]
Academic based evidence is the key to supporting any investment philosophy as to avoid any “flash in the pan” portfolio managers. That takes us to the University of Chicago Booth School of Business back in the 1960s. Several PhDs at the time recognized that low cost and diversification with a bent toward small companies and value, would give an investor a competitive advantage. Those PhDs are now Nobel prize winners for their early work in finance as their theories have proven successful since 1981.
Our academic filter leaves some mutual fund companies nothing more than good marketing companies.
3(38) Investment Fiduciary
As a 3(38) Investment Fiduciary we take our responsibilities seriously. Boards and committees can sleep easier as we can eliminate the liability of investment selection, monitoring and replacement. However, remember to sleep with one eye open as you still have a fiduciary duty to monitor us.
In lieu of recent 403(b) lawsuits regarding certain investments, Two West is offering a complimentary Fiduciary Risk Review.
